Predominantly children's stories, Vicky has written for clients in print, audio and film formats.
Here you can find some examples of her work.
BBC TEACH Explain This Series
Vicky wrote the scripts for a number of short films in this series:
BBC Teach - Get Creative Series
Vicky worked as an Education consultant on this series of four films about Creative Writing for BBC Teach. You can watch the films here.
From 2016 - 2018 Vicky wrote over seventy-six stories for Onebillion's open source stories project.
The challenge was to reimagine stories for a global audience, which would then be recorded in their native language. Vicky researched and reworked the stories, providing scripts which were then translated into local dialects and recorded for the children to access through their tablets.
You can read some of these stories here.
The Giant's Child
In 2017 Vicky won the National Literacy Trust's short story prize for reimagined fairy tales with her story 'The Giant's Child.' Which was published by Bloomsbury in an anthology: Once Upon A Fairytale: The Stories You Were Never Told
When the Queen Came
In 2022, for the Queen's jubilee, Vicky was asked to facilitate a number of workshops with pre-school children. The project involved encouraging children to ask questions about the queen. The questions were so sweet Causeway Coast and Glens museum service asked an illustrator to make pictures of them. Vicky then weaved these into a little story. The result is 'When the Queen Came' which is available in digital form here and hard copy from Causeway Coast and Glens Museums.
