Sensory Stories are stories that speak to the senses.
Originally designed for people with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities, they bring stories to life through a series of sensory activities and stimulation, which can be experienced within the body.
These stories are ideal for children with sensory needs or for use with children under 5.

"Our PMLD children have benefited from Vicky visiting and telling her wonderful stories. Our special children can’t access the world as easily as we can, so we bring the world to them. Vicky, with her soothing voice tunes in to each individual child. Some need stimulated , some need calming and Vicky is able to modify her story to suit their needs.

Vicky has been coming to us for quite a few months now. Due to the very different service users living in our project, most with limited verbal communication Vicky quickly tailors her sensory storytelling service to adapt to their individual needs. There are very different levels of understanding and some service users get more involved than others and this is when Vicky's quick thinking and knowledge of her area of expertise is seen most. She has on occasion incorporated hand massage and relaxing aromas which the service users love. They also appear to be drawn to her soothing voice and her skill of awakening their senses. She offers a wide variation of props in her stories. On the whole we are very happy we have found Vicky and will continue to use her service as we all thoroughly enjoy her visits.
